Getting started

What is ClutchTask?

ClutchTask is a web-based task organizer for keeping personal to-dos and team work in one place. Create task lists, organize work into projects, set priorities and due dates, and keep task discussions with comments.

Is ClutchTask free?

ClutchTask is currently free to use. Create an account to start organizing your tasks and projects. If the service changes, the latest information will be published on this website.

How do I create an account?

Select Sign Up, enter the requested account details and follow the verification instructions sent to your email. After verifying your address, sign in to start using your workspace.

Can I use ClutchTask for personal tasks as well as team projects?

Yes. Keep your own to-dos in your task lists, or share a list with other people to coordinate team work. You can also create projects to group related task lists.

Organizing your work

How do projects and task lists work together?

Projects group related task lists. Create a project and connect it to one or more lists, then assign individual tasks to that project when you create or edit them.

Can I edit or delete a task?

Yes. Open a task to edit its title, description or other details, or delete it if it is no longer needed. Deletion removes the task from its list.

Can I set a priority and due date for a task?

Yes. Tasks can have a low, medium or high priority and a planned due date. The task list highlights upcoming and overdue deadlines to help you decide what to work on.

Can I break a task into smaller steps?

Yes. Add subtasks to a task and mark each one complete as you make progress. The subtasks stay with the parent task.

Can I add context or a discussion to a task?

Yes. Tasks include a description and a comment thread, so you can keep notes and work-related discussion together.

Can I categorize tasks?

Yes. Optional categories include bug, feature, improvement, technical task, refactoring, maintenance, testing and documentation.

How do I see the task I am working on first?

Use the task list's “Do Now” control to move a task to the top of your ordered list. You can reorder active tasks to suit your workflow.

What do Active, Hold and Done mean?

Active tasks are in progress or waiting to be started. Put a task on Hold to pause it without deleting it, or mark it Done when the work is complete. You can return to paused tasks later.

Can I archive a task list?

Yes. Archive a list when it is no longer active; archived lists are kept separately from your active task lists and can be managed from the archive.

Teams and access

How do I share a task list with someone?

Open the list's settings and add a person using their account username or email. Choose a role that matches the access they need.

What are the team roles?

Viewers can see shared work, workers can work on tasks, and administrators can manage the list and its access settings. The exact actions available depend on the list and task permissions.

Can I assign a task to a team member?

Yes. Tasks can be assigned to a user who has access to the relevant shared work. Task-level roles can also define who can work on a task.

Account and devices

Can I use ClutchTask on a phone or tablet?

Yes. ClutchTask runs in a web browser and its pages adapt to smaller screens. Sign in with your account to access your workspace.

How do I reset my password?

Choose the password reset option on the sign-in page and follow the instructions sent to your account email address.

Where can I find a step-by-step walkthrough?
